Must Haves for Sensitive Skin

I have incredibly sensitive skin. With sensitive skin comes a never ending battle of trying to find skincare products that will help rather than harm. I’ve had some bad reactions to moisturizers and cleansers. For instance, Say Yes to Cucumbers moisturizer burnt my skin so severely that I had to sleep with a cold cloth on my face overnight. I used cleanser once called “Simple” that claims only gentle ingredients. This cleanser made me break out in a rash and made my face incredibly itchy. I struggled to find make up remover that didn’t leave my eyes itchy or red. Even some make up products would leave my skin feeling dry and raw.

With all of this being said I have found salvation! Here are my sensitive skin must haves:

1. Motives Make Up Remover Towelettes

These wipes gently clean off my everyday make up. They do create a bit of foam to rinse your face without using water which is great for road trips and travel.

2. Burt’s Bees Refreshing Lip Balm (Grapefruit)

This lip balm keeps my lips moisturized and hydrated. I keep it in my car so I can apply it while I’m on the go!

3. Burt’s Bees Garden Tomato Toner

This toner removes all dirt and grime from my face. It leaves my skin feeling incredibly clean and clear!

4. Skintelligence Daily Moisturizer

This antioxidant packed moisturizer leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. It smells great and makes my face feel fresh!

5. Kala Style Company: Avocado Soap

This was given to me as a Christmas gift and it’s my favourite! It smells amazing and has all natural ingredients.

Full Lips Friday

lips thursday

Today I woke up to a brisk -24 degrees celsius day.  Isn’t Ontario glorious? Rather than allow my lips to turn blue for the day I chose my Motives Neutral Lip Liner + Pink Sugar Rich Formula Lipstick. The combination of these two products allows my lips to look fuller and moisturized all day. Other lipsticks I’ve used in the past begin to peel off or crack half way through the day. I bought a beautiful coral bliss colour from Mac and wore it twice before throwing it out. The way it stripped off of my lips after only a few hours was beyond frustrating. It’s so nice to find a moisturizing lipstick that does not fade away as the day progresses.

The Pink Sugar Rich Formula Lipstick has a bit of shimmer which I love. This lipstick comes in 24 colours including shades of pink, red and purple. The best part? This Vitamin E filled lipstick is only $14.95. This lipstick keeps my lips hydrated even on these cold and dry Canadian winter days.

Bring Your Winter Look to Life

Let’s face it, the winter does not bring out the best in our natural beauty. My skin becomes dry, my complexion drifts to that of Casper and my lips are constantly chapped.

Bold matte lips are a great way to play up your winter look. Since most of us become quite pale during the cold and gloomy winter, one way to make your lips pop is with a matte red, pink or burgundy.

For everyday winter wear my pick is Motives for La La Ultra Matte Lipstick. For date night or girls night out I would probably go with a bolder red or louder pink. However, since I am wearing this to work on a daily basis, this colour allows me to look more professional and less like Casper the friendly ghost.

Colour: Potent

Price: $16.75

This lovely matte lipstick also comes in a bold red, pink and a more coral red. To view more colours or order yours today click here!

Beauty Bargain

Quality make up does not have to break your bank! For over a year I’ve been wearing Motives make up. Motives is manufactured in the same factory as Mac yet sold for a fraction of the price. I used to spend unspeakable money on shadows, foundation, and mascara from Mac.

Since switching to Motives I’ve seen an improvement in my skin and bank account. I endorse their products so much that I recently became a sales rep! I don’t wear a ton of make up. I like the more natural look. Foundation, powder, mascara, eyeliner, and a lip gloss is my daily regime. To check out my site and see the cost friendly products visit:
