Taking Constructive Criticism

Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one.”

I’m emotionally driven. Sometimes when hearing constructive criticism I can take it to heart or take it personally. However, if we’re never criticized how do we improve? This can happen in relationships with your significant other, family, coworkers, or friends. Sometimes we need to hear that we’re being inconsiderate to realize it, or that there’s something we can do differently in order to improve ourselves. I need to remind myself that when people are giving constructive criticism it’s to help me, not hurt me. We all want to be the best version of ourselves.
