I grew up in a small country town. I grew up on water, on an ice rink, and surrounded by caring people. The people are polite, and everyone knows your name. Everyone knows everyone, and therefore everyone knows everyone’s business. It’s a close knit community and we’ve been victim to tragedy too many times to count. Great people have lost their lives, and the community would be left shattered, but always finds its’ strength in togetherness.
It’s an area where my parents knew all of my friends parents. My teachers in high school went to high school with my parents. With a population of 25, 000 you’re bound to know everybody.
We’re a beautiful town. We’re a hockey town. We’re a wintery town. We’re a back roads, and two lane roads kind of town. We’re a safe town. We’re a see the stars every night kind of town. It just doesn’t get any better than that.
